First, what does the word "better" mean in the question? Also, "better" in terms of what? The answer to the first question varies. The important thing to remember is that "better" is a relative term. Keep this in mind as you consider the questions regarding groups and individuals.
However, we have already answered the second question. We know the factors that we would like to see performed well. The answers to the second question are the six output variables that we described in Chapter 1. The variable of cohesiveness, by definition, cannot apply to individuals. However, the remaining five relate to the performances of both groups and individuals. We can define "better" in terms of each of these output variables.
