3. Perception of time and schizophrenia
Much schizophrenia research has focused on localizing the brain׳s processing of neuropsychological tests. As suggested by Dickinson and Harvey (2009), this tendency draws on evidence from other illnesses that performance in specific tests can be affected by deterioration in specific brain regions. However, schizophrenia is characterized by impaired performance across tests sensitive to frontal, temporal, hippocampal, parietal, striatal and cerebellar functions. Therefore, there is growing evidence for a generalized cognitive deficit and generalized neurobiological mechanisms in schizophrenia.
