families according to their substrate specificities and
sequence similarities (Mackenzie et al., 1997).
Family 1 GTs use uridine 50
-diphospho sugars as
the sugar donors. Plants contain a number of UDP
glycosyltransferases (UGTs) (Jones and Vogt, 2001).
