The empirical Woolhiser coefficient was set to 0.15 (factor 19 in Table 1): this coefficient reduces the effective wetted infiltration perimeter during low flows when a trapezoidal channel simplification introduces significant error [Unkrich and Osborn, 1987]. The initial soil moisture state (Table 1) was set to 0.4, except in events 7 and 8, where it was set to 0.6. These values were chosen on the basis of general antecedent conditions and from previous experience in calibrating KINEROS2 for Walnut Gulch watersheds.
