Rattan
Rattan is abundant in the forests of Laos and has been used for centuries for making basketry, and furniture. Young rattan shoots are also consumed as food.
These our artisans continue these traditions and have adapted their design and techniques for international tastes.
Gold & Silver
The gold and silversmiths of Laos are world renown for their intricate designs. Gold and silver articles in addition to being decorative were also a means of investing money. As apart of marriage a woman must have a gold belt and the man must pay for his bride in gold. Lao artisans are skilled at making belts, necklaces, rings, bracelets as well as bowl and cup for ceremonial purposes.
