The models observed by the use of
RSM indicated linear and quadratic time, linear and quadratic temperature
and the interaction between linear time and linear temperature as
significant terms for both mesophilic and lactic acid bacteria counting.
Lack of fit was not found in these regressions and the response surfaces
could be used to explain the behavior of treatment. According to Figs. 1C
and 1D is possible to see that the highest efficiency in decontamination
was found for temperature of 74 °C and time of 10.53 min, which were
used for subsequent US treatments.
