There are a number of places that you can focus coaches. The most common place that senior coaches are
being used are at the areas of difficulty, the areas of transition that are going on inside an organization. If you
look at the main functions of any Learning and Development department you will find a lot of energy spent
on the core functions of bringing people on board, on helping managers go through transitions and on
supporting high performers. So these provide some of the common focus points for coaching - onboarding,
getting people into the organization effectively as well as getting them to a new level, helping them
go from being a technical expert to managing other technical experts as well as high performers.
