What happened to attorney Jerry Curry was no joke. You probably saw the footage of the incident on television. A man named William Striler tried to shoot him as Curry played dodge the bullets' be- hind a tree. Although Striker fired five or six shots, none connected with any of the lawyer's vital organs. During the attack, Striler shouted, "You took my money, that's what you get." It seems that Striler was upset because Curry was being paid from his trust fund, which Curry was hired to manage. Curry staggered from behind the tree, bleeding from the face, and held up his hands before collapsing in the street. .Striler, the gunman, calmly walked past stunned reporters before an off-duty sheriff's reserve officer tackled him. Work-related violence is an extreme out- come of dysfunctional conflict. SOURCE: Associated Press, "Lawyer Shot outside LA. Court MsNBC News(October 31, 2003), http//www.msnbc.com/news/987626. asp.
