The fermentation experiment was also carried out at two more different temperatures, namely,37 and 25 °C. Recently, it was reported that pellet diameter could be controlled by varying thepreculture temperature for R. oryzae 1526 strain. With the increase of incubation temperature(<30 °C), pellet diameter became smaller and beyond 30 °C, the pellets with larger diameterwere formed [13]. In the present investigation, the approach was not made at preculture stagebut during SmF. As already discussed, in the present investigation, pellets were obtained bothat preculture and fermentation stages. For SmF, the growth conditions optimized for pelletformation and higher production of FA were pH 6, 30 °C, and 200 rpm. Investigation on thepossible role of SmF temperature in R. oryzae morphology and thus influencing the productionlevel of FA was important.
