Raw materials need to be used carefully
so that they can later be reclaimed for
re use. In the case of LEDs, this applies to
the electronics; with fluorescent lamps, it
applies to rare earths and mercury and
with luminaires, aluminium, iron, plastics
and glass. The lighting industry favours
the use of recyclable or reclaimable materials
and takes maximum care to ensure
that harmful substances are avoided in
strict accordance with the regulations in
place.
