On May 20, 2016, the National Service of Health, Safety and Quality of Agrifood (SENASICA) published the end of negotiations for a bilateral agreement on trade in cattle and chicken meat between Mexico and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Mexican authorities have demonstrated domestically produced meat to comply with food safety and market requirements. Mexican producers will be trained to reach the Halal Certification for the livestock products, this certification being is essential for Arab countries importing beef. In October a UAE delegation will visit Mexico to conduct audit of establishments being candidates for bovine meat export to the UAE.
SENASICA and the Municipality of Dubai have also formalized the agreements with the Sanitary and Religious Authorities of Arab Countries, providing exporters with an additional level of certainty.
