Both the epithelium and the vascular endothelium in the control
group stained positive for prolactin at 5.5 dpc and 7.5 dpc (Fig. 2D).
Luminal epithelial, glandular epithelial, vascular endothelial, and
sub-epithelial stromal cells all stained positive for prolactin at the
implantation site in the VED group at 5.5 dpc. Prolactin was clearly
localized within the luminal epithelial, glandular epithelial,
vascular endothelial, and decidual stromal cells at the implantationsite in the VED group at 7.5 dpc. Collectively, these results
confirmed that spontaneous decidualization occurred in the
endometrium of pseudopregnant rats with VED.
