Allocentric tourists are closely related to explorer tourists and when a destination starts to show signs of becoming a more mass tourism destination they start searching new destinations to travel to. When developing tourism in a developed country one should target first those that are more likely to try out new destinations such as allocentric and near allocentric travelers. Targeting psychocentric travelers is difficult due to them being more narrow minded and demanding. Psychocentric travelers know what they want and expect that they also get it. A new destination that is in the beginning of its development cycle hardly has the means to provide these demanding travelers something that would exceed their expectations.
