3.3. Canopy growth
The interaction between treatment and site was notsignificant for several descriptors of canopy growth and plant health status,indicating a consistent treatment effect on the two experimentalsites. The only exception was represented by the shoot growth measured in October 2014 (site × treatment interaction p = 0.036).Differences in shoot growth between the sandy and silt loam soil were attenuated during the 2014 season in the FR location due toa lower shoot growth rate in the sandy loam treatment and an increased growth rate in the silt soil. Shoot growth was higher on plants in peat substrate since June 2014 and the higher shoot growth rate in the peat treatment was maintained until the end of the trial in both locations.
