All registered nurses working on the unit were invited to take part in the study via an introductory letter and were asked to provide written consent. Once participants agreed to take part in the study, they were given an identifying code known only to the researcher. Demographic details were separated fromotherdatatoensurethatparticipantscouldnot be identified. Confidentiality was maintained by referring to participants using these codes.
