I am deeply grieved to hear that you were retired from the government service of ill-health last week. To my way of thinking, it is quite a common experience when illness can come to everybody at any time and accordingly injure or destroy him.
However I would like you to accept my sincerest sympathy, and, at the same time, regard me as a friend in need. I am willing to help you, when you are in need of my help.
Although your retirement has been a great blow to you, yet you should not give yourself up to despair, because your illness does not seem so serious as it appears. Your doctor told me that you will recover but it takes time. So you must be patient.
A man of ability like you can easily find employment as soon as you feel quite strong again. You had better keep cool, and bide your time, and indubitably this will make you happy.
