Appearance: B
Isabella is a darling runaway kitty that we rescued on the edge of the desert in Dubai on January 2, 2012. She was dusty as all getout, full of ear mites and a few mats, and as patient as could be with getting brushed and cleaned up. She has perfect tortie coloring with her half-tone chin and one champagne-colored paw, and lovely pumpkin orange eyes. She would get an A if she didn’t have a gigantic shaved patch on her right flank from being spayed and microchipped two months ago - when is that ever going to grow in??
Her most cute habit is to lie down and plunk her chin on the floor or chair in this really comical way I’ve never seen another cat do.
*If I may put in a plug for the local cat rescue Feline Friends Dubai which is in a crisis this year, all the local street kitties would be so grateful.
Sociability: B
This cat is very companionable in the way she follows me around the house at all times. She is good with my kiddo and her friends, and she is remarkably quiet at night until the humans in the house actually need to wake up.
We have no idea how she would be with other animals though as the closest we’ve come to that is a lot of growling through the screen doors at the neighbor’s white cat while Isabella was in heat. Another category in which she doesn’t quite warrant an A though, because she is not big on lap sitting, and she is a fierce foot attacker when you are in bed.
Usefulness: A
She makes a good diversion for the resident five year old who delights in dressing her in doll clothes, chasing her, and talking to her in silly voices, allowing me to get dinner on the table etc. She also just adds a big quality of life to the home, and gives us the warm fuzzies that go along with actually being warm and fuzzy. And, she kills and eats flies.
Huggability: B
She is not a super fan of snuggling, but I pick her up like a baby a few times a day and she tolerates it. She is still working on letting the five year old carry her around.
