Turning to the discrepancies between intentions and actions, anambitious future research design could include intentions, respective strategic choices, and implemented strategies in the same longitudinal study, and examine their effect on the different aspects of theensuing performance. Perhaps using a mix of primary survey dataand secondary realized strategy at a later time point would enablesuch a design to be realized. Crucially, this would allow examinationof the key question of how discrepancies between intentions andactions affect performance.
