อุทยานแห่งชาติมุกดาหาร (ภูผาเทิบ) ตั้งอยู่ในเขตป่าสงวนแห่งชาติดงบังอี่ ครอคลุมพื้นที่ อ.เมืองมุกดาหาร และ อ.ดอนตาล ห่างจากตัวเมือง 17 กม. โดยใช้เส้นทางมุกดาหาร-ดอนตาล แยกเข้าทางขวามือระหว่าง กม.ที่ 14-15 อีก 2 กม. จะถึงที่ทำการอุทยานฯ มีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมด 30,312.5 ไร่ หรือ 48.5 ตารางกิโลเมตร ประกอบด้วยภูเขาชันหลายลูกติดต่อกัน สภาพป่าส่วนใหญ่เป็นป่าเต็ง-รังและป่าเบญจพรรณ หลายบริเวณเป็นผาสูงและลานหินกว้าง มีหินรูปร่างแปลกๆ มากมาย นอกจากนี้ยังมีสถานที่น่าเที่ยวชมในอุทยานแห่งชาติมุกดาหารได้แก่
