Overall, the baseline reported rate for ever having had a mammogram was 76% for women aged 40 and over, but substantially higher in the intervention than in the control group (Table 2). Eighty-three percent of women in the intervention group reported ever having had a mammogram, compared with 68% in the control group. Only slightly more women in the intervention
than the control group reported the practice of BSE. Ever having had a Pap for women over 40 years of age was almost universal in the intervention group (95%) and very common among the controls (83%).
