The Big Five and job satisfaction
The research found that the Big Five explained
6.1% of the variance of job satisfaction. Among
the Big Five, only extraversion was significantly
related to job satisfaction. In contrast, a previous
meta-analysis based mainly on studies in the West
(Judge et al., 2002) found that the Big Five can
explain about 16% of the variance of job satisfaction,
and three factors—extraversion, neuroticism,
and conscientiousness—were significant predictors
of job satisfaction.
