Description of station
According to recently carried out Internet poll, "Mayakovskaya" was recognized as the most beautiful station of Moscow Metro. Her style – "Stalin neoclassics" with elements of vanguard designs. She reminds the refined underground palace with beautiful lighting. The arch of station is supported by rather thin columns covered with stainless steel. In the basis they lean on a massive reinforced concrete plate. Steel has accurately outlined arches and thanks to reflection of light has given stations an elegant look. Cold gray color on columns is beautifully combined with small impregnations of a red eagle rug at height of human growth.
Traveling walls from above are revetted with ufaleysky marble, from below – a diorite. Drawing on a floor quite simple – two rows of gray-white squares from marble and granite. Between them on an axis of the hall the granite strip of dark red color is built in. She as if conducts to a pedestal in an end face where Mayakovsky's bust is established.
Special value at design and construction of Mayakovskaya station was given to light. Lamps are placed in 33 domes of an oval form. They fill an interior with a play of light and penumbras. It does station of more expressive, emphasizes uniqueness of its architecture and plasticity.
A considerable art role is played by the mosaics located deeply in domes on the subject "Days of the Soviet Sky". Their author is the famous Russian artist A. Deyneka.
