It is concluded that A. cordifolia plants showed several strategies of acclimation to short-term water deficit, including ABA and g-tocopherol accumulation, and both transient and sustained increases in the DPS, which were tightly coupled to daily variations in PSII photochemistry. The specific function of g-tocopherol as well as the mechanisms involved in the diurnal regulation of SA levels in this CAM plant warrants further investigations
