A Chinese member of Korea’s famous idol group EXO, Kris, formally filed a lawsuit to the Seoul Central District Court to look over his “exclusive contract” with SM Entertainment and render it ineffective. The spread of this information immediately attracted a lot of attention, and fans have found it difficult to accept, and are especially worried if their upcoming first tour can continue as usual.
Because of this, Tencent exclusively talked to SM Entertainment, interviewing the other EXO-M members, all feeling as if Kris’s (Wu Yifan’s) actions are very out of the blue.
In addition to expressing dissatisfaction towards Kris (Wu Yifan), the other members are also committed to the fans, and the concert and other events will continue.
After the news of Kris (Wu Yifan) going solo was brought up, it caused heated discussion between the fans. Previously, it was rumored that the company limited solo opportunities for Kris (Wu Yifan) and many media companies have attempted to contact SM Entertainment regarding the authenticity.
SM Entertainment says, “We are now confirming the facts of this situation. It is very confusing for us, but we will continue to ensure that EXO’s activities will go well.” On the other hand, the Seoul Central District Court has revealed to the public and media that it has received the case Kris (Wu Yifan) filed for termination of his “exclusive contract.”
As group member Kris (Wu Yifan) suddenly brought up going solo, many fans were shocked and also were worried concerning EXO-M’s future activities in China. Suho and Tao spoke on the matter, and today Tencent spoke with them through SM Entertainment. The other members said that they had no prior knowledge of Kris’s (Wu Yifan) actions.
Tao admits, “Especially before our first concert, which was so important to all of us, doing these actions without discussing with anybody makes people lose faith because of terrible behavior.”
Lay (Zhang Yixing) expresses, “Us EXO members and our company have no problems, and are continuing to work.”
As to whether to concert would be affected, Chen (Kim Jongdae) expressed his own sadness by saying, “The concert that we’ve dreamed of for so long was about to happen but this sort of situation happened, everyone is very sad.”
Xiumin (Kim Minseok) also says that they would give it their all to make sure the concert won’t be affected.
Luhan says, “The 11 of us all feel the same way, and will use our biggest effort to prepare for the concert, and also hope not to receive any more malicious attacks and comments.
