CONCLUSION
Repeat pregnancy and depressive symptoms characterize
more than 25% of adolescents. VE, although
only minimally disclosed, was noted to be
an influence-increased parity. Perinatal assessments
with childbearing adolescent mothers should include
exploring VE and symptoms of depression.
Nurses and childbirth educators are poised to offer
information and education on birth control, depression,
and VE; support; and community resources to
all adolescents.
