The method is widely used to evaluate antioxidant activity in foods and biological systems and a high TEAC value indicated a high level of antioxidant activity [16]. From the TEAC values listed in Table 1, the ABTS radical scavenging activity of the tested compounds was in a decreasing order: 2 > 3 > 1 > 4, which correlated highly with the results measured by the DPPH assay.
