DNFT failures across the fleet are reaching epidemic proportions with over 1000 reported since July of 2013. Exterran has undertaken a focused effort to investigate and reduce the number of these shutdowns. To help accomplish this we have involved Ariel and Whitlock (manufacturer of DNFT’s).
To help resolve this issue, we need help from all Business Units when a DNFT fails.
Please perform the following tasks when a DNFT fails.
• Document the unit number and determined cause of the shutdown and any parts used. Email this information to the Reliability Group’s mailbox: NA.Fleet.Reliability@Exterran.com
• When DNFT (Digital No Flow Timers) are replaced, the magnet assembly must also be replaced and the old assembly complete with magnet and spring should be secured and placed in the box.
• Also notify Ariel of failures immediately. They will arrange for you to return the failed device to Ariel for analysis. Please call 1-888-397-7766 and ask for Technical Service. You can also email FieldService@arielcorp.com
