3.2. Ethylene production
Ethylene production during first 24 h was higher than second 24 h (48 h) for all treatments (Fig. 3). E treatment induced ethylene production in the flowers, in comparison to C or 1-MCP pre treatment. The lowest amount of ethylene was produced in control during 24 h while both 1-MCP treatments produced higher amounts of ethylene during this time. During 48 h after expo-sure to ethylene, E treatment caused induction of high amount of endogenous ethylene production, while 1 1-MCP + E resulted in low amount of synthesized ethylene (Fig. 3).
