Four scenarios were developed, each designed to deliver the same learning out comes, but the contexts were all different. In addition, each group was given the opportunity to select supporting information. Thus, each group commenced the information retrieval and problem solving stages with a different set of data. In between some of the cycles of independent study, group interaction, and critical analysis the groups were presented with additional information in the form of events that impacted upon the problem in some way, either positively or negatively. Each group received different sets of additional information. Consequently, groups had a choice of scenario, received different initial data and had to cope with different impacts on the problem.
