Haden Smith, 18, allegedly killed one of his mother's chickens every 15 minutes in a bid to get her to salvage his relationship with his girlfriend.
An Alabama teen's threat to kill a chicken every 15 minutes until his mom fixed his relationship with his girlfriend ended hideously, authorities said.
A total of six chickens were killed with their bodies allegedly photographed and texted by 18-year-old Haden Smith to his mother, who owned the birds, The News Courier reported.
That grisly outcome followed Smith's mother apparently failing to meet his demands of contacting his girlfriend's parents and mending their relationship.
A Facebook page appearing to belong to Smith lists him as becoming engaged in April.
"He gave his mother a deadline of noon before he started to kill the chickens," a Limestone County Sheriff's spokesman told The Courier.

Six chickens were dead, similar ones pictured, by the time Smith was arrested on charges of third-degree domestic violence and third-degree criminal mischief.
If killing defenseless birds wasn't enough, authorities say he additionally threatened to burn his mother’s house down and kill any responding deputies.
With death apparently sounding more appealing than being single, he allegedly also threatened to kill himself.
The teen was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence and third-degree criminal mischief.
