2.6.1. BCA
Intact protein recovery was determined through a PierceTM BCA protein assay. Samples were diluted in 1% SDS, to which 15 L was combined with 300 L of BCA working reagent. Samples were heated in a 57 ◦C water bath for 30 min, then cooled to room temperature prior to recording the absorbance at 562 nm. BSA was used to construct a calibration curve for all test samples, and was prepared in 1% SDS.
