The highest cliffs at Kilve are around 20-25 m and occur predominantly where the strata are vertical. Where the cliffs have strata that dip either awayfrom the sea or towards it they tend to reach only 5-15 m in height and are noticeably less stable and have stepped profiles. The cliffs with their dip towards .the land tend to be higher and their stepped profiles more distinctive than those with their dip towards the sea.
