Data from the seven days prior data collection
indicated that 151 workers (33.86%), 16 workers
(3.59%) and six workers (1.35%) respectively
reported the onset of SP at conditions of during
work time, pain lasting to work off-time and pain
persisting over period of 24 hours or more. Therefore,
the 7-day prevalence for work-related SP was
38.79% (95% CI = 34.25–43.33) (i.e., 173 cases
from 446 workers). The prevalence of workrelated
SP during the six months up to data collection
was 46.86% (95% CI = 42.21–51.51),
calculated from 209 SP cases among 446 workers.
41.48% had the onset of SP during work time (n
= 185) whilst 3.59% had pain lasting to work offtime
(n = 16) and 1.79% had pain persisting over
a period of 24 hours or more (n = 8).
