They commented that
My husband and I spend 5 nights at the Sala Samui in the first week of March in the run up to our 5th wedding anniversary and we had an amazing romantic time there. Sala Samui is one of the most fantastic resorts we have ever stayed at. We stayed in their Garden Pool Villa. The rooms were beautifully appointed with a lovely outdoor shower and a perfectly sized plunge pool. The resort has a lovely Sala styled architecture and design - very elegant and contemporary with lovely palm trees, and wooden tiled roofs and lotus ponds - and just so clean.
The most amazing part of this resort was that even though the occupancy was at 75% while we were there, you never felt you were in a crowded resort. It's such a large property that it's still really quiet and peaceful and the staff is just fantastic. The service is fast and personal and just so friendly. We were made to feel really special!
The resort has a lovely beachfront area with sun-beds and two pools - one for kids and families and the other - a quieter one for adults, surrounded by a lotus pond and lovely white day beds to lounge on. The Beach Bar is right by the pools and sun-beds and the bar staff are exemplary, making fantastic cocktails and getting you fresh coconut water within minutes of placing your order. They also make sure everyone has chilled water to drink at all times. Their Lychee Martinis and Bloody Marys are super!
The Sala restaurant has delicious, world-class cuisine. The breakfast is included in the tariff and has a buffet as well as a-la-carte dishes you can choose from. We had lunch there everyday on the beach and loved it. The dinner menu is even more spectacular. and even when we went to Chaweng or Bophut for the evening, we would return to the resort to have an after dinner drink or one of their delicious deconstructed deserts because the ambience there was so romantic.
And the Sala spa - amazing experience. We choose the Spa Package and got amazing massages and other treatments - so relaxing and rejuvenating.
Choeng Mon is a bay and the beach is enclosed on both sides by small cliffs. The water is aquamarine and clear with lovely gentle water, absolutely no waves. I am a non swimmer and could wade in till my shoulders without a problem. There are rocks in the water in front of the Resort but 10 steps to the right of the resort, the water is absolutely clear. The beach has lovely white and powdery sand. It's a lovely and quiet alternative to the crowded and popular Chaweng Beach.
There really isn't any nightlife in Choeng Mon. It's quite a tiny area. There are some Beach front restaurants and a couple of nice restaurants like the resorts own Italian restaurant Pangaea, Long Table etc in the street in front of the resort But Bophut Fishing Village and Chaweng Beach are a 10 minute taxi ride away for access to great bars and restaurants. The resort has a taxi stand right outside by the lobby area The prices are fixed and written on the official taxi stand board, so there isn't any need to haggle or think you're being taken for a "ride" :)
The Front desk even helped us reserve an excursion to the five islands and fixed the price for us and organised it in such a way were we could pay the hotel directly and just present a voucher to the Excursion Organisers making it hassle-free for us.
We are so glad we discovered Sala Samui. Our vacation was made really special because of the staff and services of Sala Samui. We want to go back as soon as we can!!!
