Electrocoagulation was shown to be a versatile tool for decolorization (up to 98% yield) of solutions containing Orange II, a highly soluble dye, whereas the effectiveness of chemical coagulation with energy savings and decolorization yield could be found about 15 mA/cm2 with Al electrodes, while current density could be reduced at 7.5 mA/cm2 with Fe electrodes for the same decolorization yield.
