Why is it so important?
With regular use, make-up brushes collect bacteria, oil and dead skin cells – particularly if used throughout the day rather than on freshly cleansed skin.
The longer you go without washing your make-up brushes, the more nasties they accumulate – which can cause blackheads, blemishes and breakouts.
Sensitive skin sufferers will also know that dirty brushes (particularly foundation brushes), can be very scratchy on the skin – so keeping them clean will help avoid irritation.
Excess dead skin cells and old make-up on brushes will also dull down your complexion and make application more difficult, so you’ll use more make-up with poor results!
