As she walked out of the elevator to take her midday break, she saw the wall of fame with
handprints of employees positioned between two large video screens showing latest
activities and news. She had read about this area in last month’s Soopsip, the hotel
employee newsletter. Her attention was drawn to the frame of the longest-serving employee,
who began working at the hotel in 1967. She pulled her own hand up to the frame and
pretended that she was making a print in wet plaster. As she walked to the reception area,
she could see the tree of appreciation, where she posted a small note on a green
leaf-shaped piece of paper to express her thanks to her senior colleague who took over her
shift the previous week. To her right on a chair the O-Bear was colourfully dressed in a green
and white sarong. The signage to the left of the O-Zone concierge counter gave directions to
all zones, in a vertical panel with different colours and green arrows: the Sell Zone, the Relax
Zone, the Fashion Zone, His Zone, Her Zone, the Health Zone, Cafe´ 48, the Talent Zone, the
Mind Zone and the Dream Zone. This was her first time to discover each zone.
In Kiosk 48 there were products available for sale at cost to employees of the hotel, including
t-shirts, mugs and other gift items. There were coffee and cakes sold at reasonable prices.
