Ontology analysis (Ex#22, 24):
Ex#22 scored on average slightly worse than
the baseline. A surprise is the increase in score
for the Animals ontology, since with or
without the use of a reasoner, the results for
this ontology should be the same. The reason
for this increase is probably the same as
indicated for the Ex#1a&b experiments.
Another unexpected result was the decrease in
score for the Travel and Wine ontologies. A
reason for this might be that the additional
relations provided by reasoning are not fully
utilised, which we test in Ex#24 and Ex#27.
However, if we look at the error rates (the
ratio of entities populated versus not populated) in Table 6 we see a decrease in
errors for the Travel and Wine ontologies,
which can indicate that more relations
provided by the reasoner helps to populate
more entities.
