5. Conclusions
A statistical analytical model for assessing the correlation between the knowledge management method and new product development strategy on new product development performance with four knowledge management method aspects and three new product development strategy aspects was developed on the basis of various hypothesis. Taiwan high-tech industries were selected for a questionnaire survey and evaluation in this study. The results of an illustrative statistical study indicated that the knowledge management method and new product development strategy exhibited a positive effect on new product development performance. Alternatively, “the stronger the knowledge management method, the more complete the new product development strategy, the better the new product development performance” was proven significantly. The data in Table 2, Table 3, Table 4 and Table 5 show that the knowledge management method and new product development strategy display a positive role on new product development performance. Therefore, to survive, enterprises must emphasize internal knowledge management methods and new product development strategy. Note that enterprises must fully understand the market conditions and carefully evaluate the new product development strategy and plan to obtain higher new product development performance.
This research targeted only high-tech industries. It is our suggestion that other industries be analyzed in the future. The correlation among different industries adopting knowledge management methods and new product development strategy on new product development performance should be examined. This research studied the relations among knowledge, strategy and performance. The environment characteristics may be involved in the future to obtain more complete research results.
5. Conclusions
