The study of animals is fascinating. There are mind-boggling similarities in the basic structures of most animals, including humans. Quite often, only subtle variations in how specific organs develop can make for marked differences in final products. For example, like a number of other animals, lizards have four legs, two each of eyes and ears, a mouth with teeth, and so on. Yet, they are quite unique. Lizards consist of a wide-ranging number of species that have likely been around for over 200 million years. They are reptiles, thus are related to snakes and crocodiles. Lizards are found almost everywhere with the exception of the continent of Antarctica.
