measures
ANOVA revealed significant
effects
of treatment, time and their interaction (P < 0.001). Further
analysis
of
the
effect of time by ANOVA found that the effect of
treatment
was significant for all days (P < 0.001). There was a significant
difference
between
the areas cleared of microalgae where
live
C. australis was present, compared to the controls for all days
(P
<
0.001, Figs. 2 and 3). The presence of P. crispus live material also
resulted
in a greater cleared area than in the controls for all days
(days
2,
4 and 10, P < 0.001; days 6 and 8, P < 0.05; Figs. 2 and 3).
The
areas cleared of microalgae in the C. australis treatment were
greater
to those in the P. crispus treatment at days 2 and 8 (P < 0.05,
Figs. 2 and 3).
