Sexism manifests in our patriarchal culture in many ways, whether cultural and or institutional. Here woman are harassed more on the street than I've ever seen - partly due to the reality that since their youth young men have been taught to be upfront and aggressive in what they see as compliments. The other day I walked past a dad and his son who was urging his son who could barely form sentences to whistle and say 'gostosa' to two women walking in front of me. Expand this to a lifetime of exposure from the advertisings that use semi-naked women to sell things that aren't even closely related to a women's breasts and you begin to see the magnitude of patriarchy and societal views of what sells shit and is 'beautiful'.
