While choosing a location for a convention, a typical convention
attendee may evaluate alternatives with respect to hospitality services
as well as nonhospitality services rendered by the host. Some of the
hospitality services sought by the convention attendees include hotels,
restaurants, leisure and recreation and entertainment. Some of the
non-hospitality services include information centers, meeting rooms,
shopping centers, transportation, safety, access to various attractions,
infra structure of the city, affordability. Affordability and availability
of hospitality and non-hospitality services are equally important in
selecting a convention site. Therefore, these services are considered
supplementary services to the core business of convention bureaus,
promoting tourism. Thus the following hypotheses, stated in a null
form:
H2o: Supplementary services provided by the convention bureaus
have no effect on consumer evaluation of the hospitality services
provided by the convention site.
