In the considered range, the more adequate drying conditions, which provided the maximum seed oil yield (SOY) were: temperature of 70 ◦C and air velocity of 2.0 m s−1. Under these conditions,
SOY was 19.23%, the time to attain the equilibrium moisture content was 390 min and the final moisture content was 7.40%. For comparison, Labarca et al. (2015) studied the oil extraction from
Chilean papaya and obtained values from 3.94 to 6.49% for the extraction yield. Samaram et al. (2015) studied the ultrasoundassisted extraction of oil from papaya seeds. They found optimum
values for extraction yield of 23.3%.
