It focuses on the benefits
of combining action observation with the repetitive
practice of functional tasks. Mechanisms underlying
functional motor recovery after stroke require
an understanding of cognitive processes in motor
learning, including motion, imitation learning,
practice of motor learning, and development of
motor memory. Thus, it may be a helpful tool to
promote the effects of physical training by observing
action components of the training before the
actual training takes place.
