This study was designed to evaluate P. redivivus as a food source for larvae and juveniles of the small mochokid catfish species Synodontis petricola, a popular high-value ornamental fish species endemic to Lake Tanganyika. When fed different live food diets, artificial diets, spirulina and Artemia, this bottom-feeding species grew at only 0.06 mm day−1 with no difference in growth between treatments; hence, the need for more research has been pointed out to improve the culture potential of the species
