The second half of the book is much more about the authors personal journey to and with running. Of course it’s funny, what would an Oatmeal book be if it were not funny, but it’s quite different than the first half. The part that I am referencing is titled “The Lazy Cartoonists Guide to Becoming a Runner”, and it is as the title suggests, a lot about the authors own personal journey from out of shape to ultra marathon runner! For some people it will be the best part of the book (I prefer the funnier parts in the earlier section), but for me it was the part I connected the most with. Not my favorite, but definitely the most parallels to my own existence. It outlines the trials and tribulations that all beginning runners have really.
