Dear all, please work on your respective layouts determining the space allocation and conducting a research to know how the brands organize their coffee shop or stores (selling area/seating areas/ cashier/ fitting rooms, etc...). I will check all your works during next class. Please let me know if you think the total amount of work is excessive. Thank you.Good evening everyone. After last revision I have noticed many problems in selecting the area and understanding the aim of the course, which is to respond to particular problems/situations developing small architectural innovative projects.
I am very concerned about this course and I worked to review the project and the amount of workload for the semester and I have decided to simplify it and make your work easier and more understandable.
I appreciate your efforts so far, but some of your projects could go off-track. For this reason I have re-designed the briefing.
Please check the PDF attached, that I will explain in detail on next class. As you can see, however, I reorganized the class to work in groups of 4 people so please discuss it with your colleagues before next class.
You have to make groups of 4 people that will work at a pod project smaller than 35 square meters. You, as group, can choose between 3 typologies, organized by size and I will select a location that fits the chosen typology the best.
I think this way you can help each other with difficult parts such as research or visualization of the project, since you can take advantage of the synergy.
Read carefully the pages from 1-9 where the project is explained, then have a look at the inspirational projects that follow.
The amount of drawings required is suitable for a group, moreover we have to focus more on the conceptualization rather than in too much detail.
Please do not hesitate to contact me and notice that the Design Culture class this week will be moved to Monday, therefore the Public Space class will be held on Tuesday.
Thank you all and please come to next class with groups already done.
