Thus, both the present study and previous studies
highlight the need for further research, in order to examine
the way early childhood educators interact with children.
As de Schipper et al. (2007) argue what determines the
quality of caregiving behavior in professionals involved in
the care of young children remains unclear. It is imperative,
therefore, to explore the determinants of caregiver behavior
in child care centers and to correlate the type of interaction
recorded with early childhood educators’ demographic data, structural variables, programs’ overall quality, burnout
syndrome, opportunities provided to early childhood
educators for professional development and children’s
characteristics.
