In this context, this paper proposes a classification of educational multimedia clips into six generic categories.
Together with automatic indexing and retrieval solutions, the classification presents usefulness for multimedia
content adaptation and personalisation based on learner’s preferences and/or learner’s device characteristics such as
for example the device screen resolution or the device battery energy level (Moldovan & Muntean, 2009, 2011,
2012; Moldovan, Weibelzahl, & Muntean, 2014).
